Welcome to another episode of Bella in your business.Oh, my gosh.
I did not know if I was actually going to be able to record this podcast. Today is actually Monday, September 9. I’m back in my studio. You guys absolutely loved the road trip episodes. Shortly after that, I got really sick. I never get sick. I got really sick and had the chills, like the whole nine yards. My daughter was such a good nurse.
She was so cute. But I’m kind of recovering from it, and I did a lot of talking. I had meetings all day today. I try to stack my meetings mostly on Monday, Tuesday, and so I had a lot of meetings today. My throat is sore. It was getting better, and now it just feels a little bit.
I guess I don’t sound that bad. But it really strains me a lot to talk. So probably going to be a shorter episode because such is life. Okay.
But I do have two things that I really want to come to you about today, and I decided to keep your advice and, you know, be a little bit more real. So the two things I want to tell you about is something that’s happening online, which I’m going to talk about second, but first, I actually received a question from a jumper. And in the mastermind, we have what we call roundups. And once a month we all get together.
It’s kind of like a group coaching.
Call a group think tank. It’s kind of where we can all bounce ideas off of each other and just really come together and solve. And it’s great because people submit their questions ahead of time, but then people also, they just show up because a lot of the times, other people’s questions are your questions or other people’s fears. And this is one of them. And it actually inspired me so much that I wanted to address this on the podcast. I wanted to give you this question and inspiration, because when I did start talking about it today, I just. I started preaching, man. I started preaching because I’m very passionate about it.
And so I wanted to bring it to you. So the question Laura asked, how do you stay so positive? I catch myself fall into negative thought. We all know where that can lead to. I need to get more involved. I know I cannot listen to Bella podcast all day to stay positive. Well, first of all, thank you so much for listening, and I’m glad that it does make you feel positive because that’s definitely my intention. This also is a listener that I haven’t heard from for a really long time. So you guys, anyone who has not said hello to me, please dm me on Instagram.
This is between you and me. Just you and me. And it is a two way dialogue, believe it or not. I love, you know, hearing what you guys think and really want to get to that.
Okay? And we are back. Now, I just looked at my microphone, and it wasn’t lit up. So that first three minutes was on my Mac speakers. And now I’m sure, and I hope that you can hear a difference. That is what a professional microphone makes. And just because of the realness of this podcast, I am not going to go back and re record the first three minutes. But anyways, back to Laura’s question. So, first, thank you for listening.
Second, motivation. Inspiration means nothing without action. And I’m going to tell you what I told my mastermind members today, and I’m going to speak all from personal experience, okay? I might show up for you guys as motivated and inspiring doesn’t mean that I walk around like that all day long. You can catch me five minutes before we’re supposed to leave for the house for school, and I’m a frazzled mess, which is why I have habit stacked, which is one of my tips to talk to my daughter in the car on the way to school. What’s your intention for today? Oh, I don’t know, mom. I don’t want to do it. All right, well, what do you want to focus on today? I don’t want to do it, mom. Do you want to focus on picking your nose? No, mom, that’s silly.
Okay. Do you want to focus on having a good day? She goes, yeah. And I go, well, what? What one thing can you focus on to have a good day? She goes, being a good friend. I go, how would you be a good friend? Because if you guys have kids, you know you have to ask 20 questions, right? So anyways, my point is, is that every day we have to drive to school, it’s a seven minute drive to school. And that is the perfect opportunity to think about an intention. And we set an intention that day. And something that I started doing this week, this month. Oh, man, this might be a long podcast.
Something that we started doing this year for school, is I decided I would let her know what my intention was, and also I would tell her what I was going to be doing while she was at school. And so it was a two way street. So after school I’d be like, hey, honey. Yeah, I did this today. Or I was like, I remember one day last week, I said, I’m going to set my intention that I am creative and have great problem solving skills. And she didn’t really catch on to it. But I continued on and I said, mommy is going to get her butt kicked by one of her business friends today because mommy needs to get outside of her head. And luckily I have people in my life that I can do that with.
But then I came back to her and, you know, I told her how it went and I told her that I had some really tough decisions to make and I was really overwhelmed and I had to call a friend, and I reminded myself that when I wanted to cry or have a tantrum that I am creative and I have lots of great problem solving skills. So be intentful with your life. How do you stay positive? You be intentful. How do you stay positive? You count your blessings. I got a lot of flack two years ago for this, and I don’t care. I’m going to say it again because I do believe in it. I’m not saying that this saying can cure clinical depression. I am saying simply that if right now you are not feeling that happy, if you just pause this podcast and think of five things you are grateful for and even go as far as write them down, pen and paper if you can.
If not, your notepad and your phone will just do just fine. You cannot be sad and grateful at the same time. All right? So you have to fight to find the blessings every time you want to go into your brain into stinking thinking, into beating yourself up into, oh, my gosh, this always happens. Ugh. Another day, another dollar. Oh, you know, it just. It just never stops. Oh, life’s all a bowl of cherries, all these sayings.
The minute that that happens, I want you to become aware of it, and I want you to change that into what is possible, what is possible from this happening. This is like the. Because you get to that. I’ve been talking to you guys about staying positive is a choice. It literally is a choice that you have to make every single second. And you know, something else I started doing is I started being not only grateful, like when I’m, like, really happy. This weekend I had a situation where I was really happy, and I looked at the people I was with and I said, I’m really proud of all the decisions I’ve made. That got me right here, right now.
They just laughed at me because I choose to live in a state of gratitude. All right, so you can get jump started, pun intended, or kickstart, by listening to the podcast or by listening to music. Do you know that if you just go for a walk it’ll help. Do you know that if you sing opera in your house, I don’t care how good or bad you are, that helps your nervous system. Do you know that if you were to just jump or dance or, like, especially when you’re feeling good, it’s really important to write a list of all the stuff that makes you feel good, and it’s. It’ll become a habit. And everything that we do is a habit in life. Everything we do, even the decision to say, ugh, it just never ends.
That’s a habit. That is something that you’re actually unconsciously choosing to do, that once you become aware of it, you can choose, do I want to say it never ends? Or I could say, hmm, what’s possible? Okay, so how do you stay positive all the time? I don’t stay positive all the time. And for anyone that says they do, please tell me what their podcast is, because that just sounds like very buddha. That sounds very enlightened, like, there’s. There’s not a lot of people in this world that are just constantly pure joy, happy, peaceful. Okay? There’s ups and downs, and it’s about riding it. And so if I could just inspire you to say, what could possibly happen that my daughter just walked in, and she’s so excited. She’s talked to me about before doing this, so we’re gonna go with this, too.
Olivia, I want you to listen very carefully before you start talking. Guys, she is like a foot away from the microphone with the biggest smile, staring at this microphone like I stare at chocolate. Okay? This summer, we. We actually started a podcast for her, and we only emailed it to our friends and family, so she’s very excited. And now school’s back, and it kind of went by the wayside. But I have a question for you, and it’s something that I just talked about. I want you to think really hard about it, and when you answer, I want you to speak slowly and clearly so everyone can hear you. Okay? Tell people what affirmations do in your life.
What do they do for you, and why do you like them? Can you tell our audience? Okay, because they’re wondering. One of the questions that I’m talking about right now is they’re saying, how do I stay positive? And so I was telling them about how we do affirmations when we go to school. So tell me what you think.
So, with your positive, it’s almost like you’re practicing, but when you get practiced, you’ll get perfect. Sometimes you may feel a little bit down, but that’s okay. You just gotta practice in a positive way. And just remember, positive is the way to practice. The practice makes perfect for perfection.
That was amazing advice. Wow. Thank you so much. That was amazing. Well. Well, I gotta continue on with the podcast. All right, one more thing, and then I need to finish.
I was born in 2014. The smallest baby there is.
They already know that, you silly goose. Okay, go on and go back and play. Let me finish this podcast. Okay. Okay. Thank you. Oh, my God. You guys just made her night.
All right, so that’s. That’s hopefully inspiring you to just think of positivity as a choice, because that’s something that you can really do. All right, so the second thing I want to talk to you guys about is there is kind of like a revival happening in one of my online communities. That is the jumpstart community. So if you don’t know about it, go to. Just go on Facebook and do jumpstart, my pet business, and you’ll find the group. And what I would love for you to do is say, hey, I’m a podcast listener. Or, hey, I really love this episode, whatever episode it is, and post on the wall and tag me.
Tag me, belabasta. Because here’s why. I want to give out a free coaching session. I want to coach you one on one on Zoom for, like, 20 minutes in the group. Do you want a free coaching session? I would love, love, love to do that with you. And I don’t even want to know the question beforehand because it’s kind of like russian roulette for me. Like, I love just getting questions fired at me. And then you get to see my brainstorm, too, which is actually, I think, pretty fun.
I think a lot of people are afraid to brainstorm. I think a lot of people need to be scripted, and they need to be, yeah, scripted, you know? And I think if. What’s helped me understand myself a little bit more, and you guys, is these past three episodes, this one included how you guys loved the road trip one, and, oh, my God, the downloads showed it, too. If you haven’t listened and you’re just joining now, go ahead and listen to the last two episodes I posted. They’re definitely my reflections of just driving in the car. It’s very unscripted. It’s very raw. You get to see my.
Or hear my add kick in. But, yeah, you know, but this is what this is about, right? And I want to come to you guys as the most authentic version of me. And I do have a lot of answers. I do have a lot of experience. I have seen so many businesses, big and small and in the city to rural in the USA, outside of the USA, say seven figures down to, you know, low, four figures, and everything in between. I’ve seen a lot. I do things a lot differently than a lot of other people might advise you to do. And I’m proud of that.
Jumpers do it different, and that’s why I say that. So, anyways, we also have a lot of really cool things going on in that group right now. Like right now, people are discussing if they think that, um, for pet sitting and dog walking consultations, if they’re necessary, or if they’re slowly becoming a thing of the past. And, um, we also have a posting in there that has more details. Um, I have a free training coming up a week from today, actually, at the posting of this. It’s going to be on Thursday, September 19, at 02:00 p.m. eastern with my co founder of pet care team Training, Liz Ilig. We’re going to be talking about the five must haves to make your pet business training streamlined and sexy.
And we’re also giving you two free things, one of which I can tell you about right now. The other is a secret. Um, the first one is a 30 day review. Um, and that’s, like, one of the things we’re going to be addressing. So Liz and I decided to give back to the industry by doing, uh, four, um, trainings on all sorts of topics. And we do actually have those for a replay for you, too. So feel free to hit me up and get those replays if you would like. You do not have to be a member or a user of pet care team training to access this information.
We are not gatekeeping. So we are going to be doing a lot more in that group, especially this month. I’ll be coming up live. You’re going to notice a thing. You might see a few surprises in there, but you’re going to have to get in there and participate. You know the best way for it to show up on your Facebook feed, it’s to get in there and comment or to press follow and to, like, get it on the top of your logarithm. So I really hope that, you know, if you’ve been waiting on the fence on the, on the, on the sidelines and you haven’t necessarily jumped into the mastermind or better marketing with Bella, maybe you’ve been too scared to, you know, dm me or call me up. I’ve heard all kinds of things.
I invite you to come in this group. There is almost 3000 people in there. 2.9 thousand people. 2900. So you’re not going to, like, stand out like a sore thrum, I promise. But I really want to get this group revived, and I need your help. I need your help. This is a really great way to get me, too.
So jump on into jumpstart your pet business. And I would also love to see your tips. How do you stay positive? Granted, positive is a choice, just like negative is a choice. And I think I have the clout to say that because I walk the talk. When I was, as you heard my daughter say, in NICU for six months, 182 days, from eight to 10 hours a day, I still found the time. Mostly it was when I was putting my makeup on to try to count my own blessings, to try to think of one thing I was looking forward to or one thing that was going right. Because I woke up every single morning feeling like a frying pan had hit my face and I wanted to cry and go back to bed. I wanted my mom to solve everything for me.
I was 32 years old. I just wanted to go back to sleep because I didn’t want to live my life. I literally remember saying, I don’t want to live my life. I don’t want to get up today, don’t want to face the day. And the way that I chose to try to change that was to stand in front of the mirror as I put on makeup, thinking about positive things and then leveraging that into, what could I say in my stoplight confessional, which was the videos that I did way back when. And it was things like, hey, guys, don’t forget, even though the clouds are out, the sun’s always behind it. Clouds. The clouds are your feelings.
Your feelings are temporary. But unfortunately, if we don’t shake up those feelings every now and again, what happens is they calcify and they’re even harder to chip off. Don’t let them calcify. Keep listening. Keep getting around people. Like I said in the last episode, places, people and food that are going to help you. All of this stuff is going to help you. But it is a daily battle, and it will get easier and easier.
The more that you do it, the momentum will grow. It will be easier, I promise you. But you need that core before you can start doing anything, because that’s one thing I can’t do for you. Oh, I wish I could hug you guys right now. I guess this didn’t turn out to be such a weird episode. Anyways, I guess when I open up my mouth, I do have a lot to say. And my daughter does, too. Tell me what you thought about that.
We’re approaching 18 minutes here. My voice does really hurt. I’m gonna go make some tea. I make some hot water with lemon, and I drop oregano oil into it. Yeah, it’s supposed to help. Here’s hoping I’m gonna manifest that it does. All right, you guys, I hope you have a wonderful week. Sign up for that free class, jump into that group.
And remember that positivity is a choice, love.
