I would be so honored if you would rate it and also leave a review.

So today we’re going to continue our theme on video. We’ve already done two episodes on video. This is going to be our third, and then next week we’re going to have one more. But this one, I’m going to talk all about snackable videos and why you need them. What’s a snackable video? I’m glad you asked because we’re going to talk all about that today. So we keep hearing how videos are super effective, right? And we keep hearing stories of how they’ve worked wonders for people. I’ve told you the story about how we’ve converted people at one penny and two pennies off of one video ad to buy a $29 product. So they work, right? But when you’re a pet sitter or a dog walker and you’re just trying to survive every day through COVID, get your business back and get back on track, the last thing you really have time to do is to try to figure this out or hire someone to do it. And I’m all about solving your problems, not giving you more problems to have. So today I’m literally going to spoon-feed you, or snack-feed you, exactly what you need to do in order to make effective snackable videos.

A lot of us have seen the early promise of how these videos get better engagement. We get a lot more views on them. Sometimes people comment more, and it reaches more people. However, not many of us have actually been able to see the drastic results we expect, since it doesn’t always move the bottom line. You might say, “Great, I got views on it, but I didn’t get any clients from it.” I hear that all the time. And it’s because we need more strategy. The biggest mistake that people make is that it’s not snackable content. You’re basically a talking head, talking and talking, and while that’s okay sometimes, that’s not going to get people into your actual company. What we need to do is create shorter, very snackable content, which means short videos, and today I’m going to tell you exactly how to do all of that.

Usually, when you create videos that aren’t talking heads, they’re salesy—“buy a walk now,” “call us now”—and most of the audience isn’t ready for that yet. The key switch that needs to be made is realizing that everyone isn’t at the same stage of the buying cycle. Thinking that everyone is at the same stage is a big disservice. Some viewers are ready to buy, some don’t know how you’re different from your competitors, and some don’t even know you exist until they Google “pet sitter.” Our goal here is not just that they find you when they search on Google—I want to take that a step up. I want them to have top-of-mind awareness so they don’t even have to search for a pet sitter because they already have you in their brain. Boom. Did that just explode your mind? I hope it did. By the snackable content I’m about to tell you to create, we’re going to achieve that.

We’re going to explain how you can drive that audience from awareness to consideration, and there’s one word you have to keep in mind: trust. We build trust by two key things—how relatable you are and how frequently they hear about you. Think about those brands online with catchy T-shirt ads that follow you everywhere. You’ve seen them 20,000 times. You’re familiar with the brand, but maybe you haven’t bought yet. They know it takes repetition to make a sale. For dog walking and pet sitting, people need to feel the need for a service, like having a trip coming up. Seeing your content repeatedly builds familiarity and trust, so that when the time comes, they think of you first.

This is why you can’t just put an ad up, spend $50, and expect instant customers. It’s not the ad—it’s the strategy. You need relatable content, shown frequently. It’s a long-term game, not a short one. You can’t create one video and leave it at that. You can’t just post “buy walks now” and expect results. They have to trust you. This is where snackable videos come in. Snackable literally means bite-sized—not the whole buffet or Thanksgiving dinner. It’s a little snack—satisfying, tasty, easy to consume, and sometimes even addictive. Think of those old “Tasty” cooking videos that were short, fast, and upbeat. That’s what you want to do.

Usually, these snackable videos are something your audience can relate to, easy to create and consume. Think of ideas like: showing how to make a pet treat, demonstrating a Kong recipe, or filming a three-second clip of each step. Add text or a voiceover. You could do “pet hacks”—tricks for walking dogs, carrying poop bags, or getting cats out from under the bed. You’re full of knowledge! Or highlight local walking trails, pet stores, vets, or trainers. Each video can be 30 seconds, full of short clips, upbeat and fun. When people see that regularly, they’ll start trusting you because you’re consistently showing up.

People don’t read blogs like they did 10 years ago. Today, it’s video. Videos are cheaper and more engaging than blogging, especially if you put ad dollars behind them. Structure matters—make something interesting, then add your branding at the end. For example, a pet shop could post “5 Things You Didn’t Know About Your Dog.” Pet sitters and dog walkers could do “5 Things You Probably Didn’t Realize We Do.” Keep it quick, fun, and end with your logo—not “buy now.” Lists work really well: “Top 5 Vets in Your Area,” “Top 5 Pet Stores,” “Top 5 Dog-Friendly Restaurants,” or “Top 5 Ways to Get Your Pet Therapy Certified.” You’re helping consumers, and in return, you gain trust.

You can also do audience research—poll your followers, ask them questions, and turn their answers into videos. For example, “How many poop bags do you use per week?” or “Guess how many dog walks we did last year versus this year.” Funny or relatable content performs great. You can even post stats—like showing how your walks dropped during COVID and are now rising again—and then ask people to support your business. Snackable content can also be quick, shareable videos like funny quotes, pet facts, or trivia. Lists and collaborations with other businesses perform well too because they’re shareable.

Guidelines for snackable content: no direct sales pitch. People already know who you are when they see your videos. Keep them short—under 45 seconds. Even your talking-head videos likely lose viewers after a few minutes. Make videos native to the platform—square for Instagram grids, vertical for Stories, horizontal for Facebook. Once you have your ideas, you can easily bring them to life. Gather your clips, choose fonts and colors that match your branding, pick music (optional), and include your logo. Each short video shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes to make.

And it shouldn’t cost you much either. Head to jumpconsulting.net/invideo. Use coupon code BELLA50 for 50% off—it’s only $5 a month or $60 a year. You get access to over a million royalty-free images and videos, plus pre-designed templates you can reuse. Upload your fonts, colors, and use the templates specifically created for pet sitters and dog walkers.

If you have questions, you can email me at [email protected] or message me on Facebook (email’s faster). I’d love to know that you’re listening. We just reached 100,000 downloads—thank you so much! I want you to remember: create snackable content, don’t be salesy, be resourceful, make a lot of them, post repeatedly, and track what’s working. Lists and collaborations make content more shareable. Post in local groups or on Nextdoor if allowed. This works—I promise it works. I’d love to see what you create, so tag me when you do!
